4 sessions spread over the course of 4 weeks: 15th, 22nd, 29th January and 5th February, 7 - 10pm each day (12 hours total)
At The London Figurative School, we have an eclectic collection of plaster casts which are available for students to copy in clay. There are casts of Roman emperors and cherubs alongside lions to choose from, which have been sculpted by Italian sculptors like Cellini, Canova and Agesander of Rhodes!
A great introduction to the art of sculpting is to copy a cast of a portrait so that you become introduced to the subtle shapes that occur on a human face. Unlike realistic portraits, these casts have been sculpted in a simplified and stylised way which makes them perfect for learning the basis shapes of the face.
